Playing the role of Getrude is a perfect fit for Kendra Maness in her theatrical debut! As Editor and Publisher of Slidell Magazine, Kendra’s love for the arts (of all types) can be seen in every edition of her publication. Her arts advocacy was recently recognized with a BRAVO Award for Community Service from the Slidell Commission for the Arts. Although this is her first time acting, Kendra was introduced to the other side of the stage when she produced Tales from Bogue Chitto Flats, a series of 5 one-act plays adapted from the book by John Case, one of the writers for Slidell Magazine. It was during that journey that she fell in love with the directing style of Suzanne Stymiest and begged Suzanne to consider her for a future part. All the groveling finally worked! It is a dream come true for Kendra to be at Cutting Edge Theater and work under the direction of Suzanne, her mentor and friend. When not on stage, you can find Kendra with camera in hand, just about everywhere in Slidell, covering all of the awesomeness of our beautiful community.
